By Gino Fracchiolla, Co-Founder & COO, True P4P Inc. (dba True Pay 4 Performance)
On October 21, 2017, I checked myself into detox. I had spent years on the streets, in and out of jail and prison, caught in addiction. I didn’t walk out of that building with a business plan. I walked out with a question I still ask every day: what am I actually worth to the people counting on me?
That question became the foundation of everything I’ve built since, and I believe every business leader will soon have to answer it. Technology is rewriting how companies find customers, earn trust, and grow. The winners won’t be the ones with the biggest budgets
or the loudest promises. They’ll be the ones willing to put skin in the game.
When the Ground Shifts Under You
I started my first company, Infiniti Marketing Group, while still in sober living. I had taken a job selling Google Ads, saw a bigger opportunity, and went for it. We built a public relations and digital media firm specializing in social media verification, and we grew fast,
serving high-profile clients whose high-stakes needs sharpened every skill we had.
Then, in 2022, Meta began selling verification as a paid subscription. Overnight, the core of our business model was gone.
Every founder eventually faces that moment, when a platform, a policy, or a new technology erases the thing you do best. You can mourn it, or you can ask what your clients still need that no policy change can take away. Our clients still needed growth. They still needed real conversations with real buyers. And they were tired of paying for activity instead of outcomes.
So in 2023, my partner in life and business, Sara Coughlin, and I rebuilt the company as True P4P Inc., doing business as True Pay 4 Performance.
Pay for Results, Not Promises
The traditional agency model has a trust problem. Businesses sign retainers, wait months, and receive reports full of impressions and clicks that rarely tie back to revenue. All the risk sits with the client.
We flipped that. We build and run done-for-you appointment-setting systems for service businesses, agencies, and consultants, and we back our core growth program with a 45 day qualified-appointment guarantee. In many cases, clients pay only for qualified appointments.
That model forces discipline. When you’re paid only for results, you can’t hide behind vanity metrics. You have to understand the client’s buyer better than anyone and fix what’s broken fast. It also changes the relationship: we stop being a vendor and become a partner chasing the same goal as the owner across the table.
This is where business services are heading. Buyers have more data and less patience than ever, and companies that tie their compensation to client outcomes will earn trust a polished pitch deck can’t buy.
Building the Tools We Couldn’t Find
Running a performance model exposed a hard truth: the tools available to small and mid sized businesses weren’t built for speed. Leads went cold because nobody answered the phone at 7 p.m. Data lived in five disconnected apps. Follow-up depended on someone remembering.
So we built what we needed.
True Pipeline is our all-in-one growth platform, bringing CRM, calendar booking, a unified inbox, and email and SMS automation together with a steady source of new leads, so owners can run their entire pipeline in one place.
Truedy™ is the piece I’m proudest of. It’s a patent-pending virtual voice agent that answers calls, makes outbound calls, qualifies leads, and books appointments around the clock, in the business owner’s own voice. From less than a minute of clean audio, Truedy creates a faithful match of a person’s voice, so a client calling at 2 a.m. hears someone familiar, not a generic script. With a single line of code, it also lives on a company’s website as a voice widget: visitors click, speak, and get real answers while meetings are booked in the background.
We refined it in live revenue environments with real money on the line, because that’s the only test that matters to us. Trust is built on familiarity. Technology should make a business feel more human, not less.
The Next Shift: From Search to Answers
The next disruption is already here. More people now ask Gemini, Claude, Grok, and other answer engines for recommendations instead of scrolling search results. If your business isn’t the answer those engines give, you’re invisible to a growing share of buyers.
That’s why Answer Engine Optimization has become one of our specialties. Companies that structure their content, reputation, and digital presence so these platforms recommend them will own the next decade of discovery. The lesson from my verification days applies: never build your future on a single platform’s goodwill. Build on outcomes, and be everywhere your customer is looking.
Leadership Built on the Four Ps
People sometimes ask how someone with my history ended up running a technology company. My answer is four principles: passion, patience, perseverance, and progress. Passion gets you started. Patience keeps you steady when results come slower than hoped. Perseverance carries you through the day a platform pulls the rug out. And progress, not perfection, is the only scoreboard that matters.
Those principles shape how we lead our team and how we show up in our community. Sara and I are active in Rotary and the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, because a business that grows without lifting the people around it hasn’t really succeeded. And I’m committed to showing people who’ve been where I was that a record or an addiction doesn’t have to be the last chapter.
This year I was honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who. But the recognition I value most comes from clients telling us their phones are ringing and their calendars are full.
What Leaders Should Do Now
Tie your promises to outcomes. Report on what drives revenue, not what looks busy.
Never let a lead wait. Speed to response is now a competitive advantage any size business can afford.
Show up where answers are given. Audit how answer engines describe your company, and fix it.
Keep it human. Use automation to give customers more of your voice, not less.
I didn’t get a second chance by playing it safe, and businesses won’t win the next era by playing it safe either. Put skin in the game. Get paid for results. And keep making progress.
