The debut of the next-generation Maruti Brezza is planned to take place later in the year; it will replace the existing Brezza.
The Maruti Brezza sub-4 meter SUV, introduced in 2016, has always been a popular choice among buyers. On the other hand, the level of rivalry in the category has improved by leaps and bounds in latest years, and Maruti cannot afford to rest on its laurels. With the introduction of new SUVs in the market – such as the Nexon, Sonet, Venue, and even the Kiger and Magnate – the Brezza has become a little obsolete. The features it provides are impressive in terms of appearance and functionality.
Maruti Suzuki India is fully aware of this and has been working on the next-generation Brezza for quite some time. The 2022 Maruti Brezza New Generation has been spotted for the first time out on the road, indicating that the automaker is on track to launch the vehicle sometime early in the following year. Automobile enthusiast Puneet Bhatia saw it while being tested under extensive camouflage, and he reported it to the authorities.
Maruti Brezza New Generation – Exterior style for 2022
The Maruti Vitara Brezza prototype for the next generation was severely camouflaged to conceal its production-ready body panels. While lacking the headlamps, grille, and taillight clusters that will eventually be installed, the mule offers us a solid indication of what to expect from the exterior design. Told, the exterior appearance of the new Brezza will be an extension of the design language of the existing model.
There are no striking surfaces on the tiny crossover SUV, maintaining its proportioned and boxy shape. Extensive greenhouse space and a substantial C-pillar are only two of the numerous features that are slightly modified. The Venue competitor will feature radically restyled front and rear fascias to better reflect the brand’s new design philosophy.
Interior of the Maruti Brezza New Generation in 2022
However, while the spy film does not provide a comprehensive interior view, we expect Maruti to carry out a thorough redesign to keep up with the times. Customers considering purchasing the crossover would appreciate a clean dashboard dominated by a large touchscreen display. On the other hand, improvements in packing and storage are also expected to be implemented shortly.
The next-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza will have a more extensive standard features list. It is also projected to move slightly up the market shortly when it comes to positioning. Multiple airbags, complete infotainment, connectivity suite, automatic climate control, and better material quality will make it a compelling purchase.
Safety considerations and engine specifications
Based on an improved version of Baleno’s modular architecture, the next-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza is predicted to be more powerful than the current generation model. We are hopeful that this will result in a 5-star crash test rating (the current model has a 4-star rating in Global-NCAP tests).
When it comes to engine options, Maruti is expected to stick with the smooth 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. On the other hand, the SHVS mild-hybrid system will likely be updated to a 48-volt system shortly. This would result in enhanced driveability as well as improved fuel efficiency.
The next-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza was unveiled as a concept vehicle close to manufacturing during the 2022 Auto Expo. On the other hand, the Auto Expo has now been postponed indefinitely. As a result, it is unclear whether we will witness a concept car before the actual production vehicle or not. The launch is expected to occur in the third quarter of 2022, around the holiday season. The introduction of the new model should reinforce the brand’s excellent position in the fiercely competitive market.
